Green Sand

algae keeps growing on my sand. i have 25 small janitor hermit crabs and 5 sand sifting stars but nothing stops the green algae keeps growing. Is there anything that will stop it growing or stir the sand?

how about one of the sand sifting gobies? like the orange spotted gobie,the sleeper gobie, and there are a few others

What are your nitrates at? Have you tested for phosphates? What kind of lighting and how long are your lights on?

I used to have massive algae on my sand. I got a goby for it, and the sand is clean as a whistle.

thanks, i think ill get a striped goby, apparantly they are pretty good at sifting the sand. They are a local species here in western australia.
