Green Sinularia placement in tank

I am interested in getting Green Sinularia I was trying to research this coral before getting it but I cannot find any thing about the placement of the coral in the tank. I presently have a 70 gallon running VHO Actinic and 100w NO I have a rio 21oo in there for circulation, working on refugium as we speak, where would I place this coral? thanks for any help I get.

im not quite clear on your lighting from your explanation. is it 100 watts vho or 100 watts NO plus the vho? if you only have a little over 100 watts i would try to put it pretty high up in the tank. they green tree may live in low light, but the green will fade to a dull white.

sorry alti I have 220w VHO supplemented with 100w NO with plans for another 220w VHO (waiting on LFS to workout a deal) but the refuge should be done soon and so far all other corals are doing fine. hope this helps you help me some more. Thanks Alti

the lighting should be fine. if you see the color start to fade a bit move it closer to the light. i like to kep mine in a medium current just so the branches are gently swaying.

thanks alti I will do that once I get it today. Is the lighting I have now fine for a few shrooms, zoos and kenya tree and xenia, clove polyps? thanks if I can't have these with my current lighting then I will go with the second VHO from the LFS.

should be ok for shrooms,zoos and the kenya tree. xenia should be ok, but mine really dont do well under weak lighting. just put the xenia closer to the top. i would get the other lighting anyway. it would be more than enough light for soft corals, most lps and maybe even some sps corals.

thanks alot Alti I got the Singularia and it looks great I put it up high in the tank and it has so far kept the greeen color and is waving in the current. I am excited also the zoos are doing great opened right up once they were placed in the tank, also the Kenya tree is doing excellent thanks for all your help

sinularias are fairly easy to care for. The green ones do like a bit more light than regular ones but if you have it up high and are planning to upgrade you should be fine. medium current is enough for these guys. they seem to open up th efullest in a moderate current that stimulates the polyps. good luck and congrats on the new corals!

Thanks Jon it is great I do not have a high bio load at all just a gramma and a wrasse and a goby at this time, but they seem to be doing great the gramm likes to lay and rest in the cabbage leather he is quite a character, I am excited with the new residents of my tank;
Cabbage leather, Green Singularia, green and orange zoos, toadstool
