Bali green slimmer happens to be one of the easier of the acropora corals to maintain in captivity. This and Millipora Acropora that is. Green slimmer tends to lose its color due to too much light or not enough or the possibility of too much nutrients in you water. The term that you are expressing is called bleaching and is a corals natural last defense in trying to survive. By riding itself of crucial zooxanthellae in the corals tissue it therefore doesn't need to exert as much energy that is needed in its attempt to survive.
You may want to test your water, change water flow and light intensity to that particular area where your slimmer resides. This may bring the coral back to a healthy, vibrant state, illustrated when you bought it and was healthy.
