If it is bubble algae,it WILL take over the tank.Bubble algae is usually more of a dark matalic color though. It looks more like steel marbles in the tank.

Bubble Algae, neat looking things. Makes the tank look like there's more life in there. First there's one, then there's 10. Emeral Crabs love the stuff. Buy one, it'll be gone quickly.

Sammy-Well obviusly the best technique would be to take the rock out of the tank and take care of it that way so it doesn't infest the rest of the tank. But if you take time and effort and money for that matter, to take your rock work apart might not be too beneficial. If the rock is easily accessable and easy to take out without knocking the other stuff over, then do it to it. In my case, I got a couple emeralds to mow the lawn so to speak. Might not take care of the whole thing but I'm sure in some instances they do and others they don't. But it give you just another thing to watch in your tank. I have a Strawberry Crab too and it's fun to watch them cross paths. Claws in the air, but never attak each other. It's fun. Then the CB Shrimp acts like the referee. Fun to watch! Especially at night when I use my flashlight on them. IT's almost like they're in the spot light or something and it's a show for the rest of the inhabitants to watch. Oh Geeeeesh, I am addicted to this freaking hobbie!! Sorry for the ramble!!

If you only have a few bubble algae balls, then do as Sammy suggested and remove them. When you do your next water change remove some of the tank's water and pour in a bucket. Then remove a piece of LR and pry the bubbles off as described above. If the entire bubble pops off you're in good shape. If you burst one then swish the LR in the bucket of old tank water best you can to remove any spores/cells. This might help reduce the chance of spreading - might is the key word.
I had an outbreak of bubble algae in my 55 tank - and removed as many as I could, eventually it went away, no emerald crab - it just ran it's course and died off. Lucky I suppose. Going through similar situation on a small 30 gallon tank set up in Feb.
Stuff comes in on LR sometimes.
Good luck
Brian
