Green Star Polyp

just got a green star polyp. i have been knocking crabs and snails off of it all day. has anyone had this problem? will it hurt the coral?

Snails no, Crabs.....maybe. I had an emerald crab make dinner out of my polyp frag I bought. I should have moved it away from where it was since the crab has made that area his HOME TURF. So, I would just move it away from where ou put it and watch the crabs.

My crabs, shrimps, and snails crawl all over my GSP and it dosen't hurt it. It retracts into the rock but comes back out after a little bit.

mine walk all over them too, and they close up for a little while. your crabs arent eating them are they? crabs and snails can help eat any algea thay might grow between the polyps.

I guess they're not eating them. they're out now and everything looks fine. i'll keep a close eye out.
