Green star polyps melting zoanthids?

I got a new frag of green star polyps and I have limited room in my tank, so I had to place them near a rock covered in zoanthid polyps. They are barely brusing the zoas, but where they touch the zoas look like they are melting.
Is this known to happen with green star polyps?
If I move them away, are the zoas likely to recover?

its a rather even match so its a toss up really as to whom will win. in my tanks i have had it go both ways. GSP is rather fast grower and can very quickly over come other corals. i find it best left on rocks not touching others to help keep it in check
