green star polyps retracting?

i just got my green star polyps today. its a small one. anyways my lights been on for about 8 hours of the day when i bought it and when i turned it off for the night to get ready for bed the polyps themselves retracted. is this a typical behavior?

Yes, they will usually close up when the lights go off.

GSP's will close up for extended lengths of time, sometimes when I move GSP frags around, they close up for a day or two, no big deal.
