Green star polyps wont open?

I have a medium mat of green star polyps in my 150 gal reef tank. I've had them for a couple of weeks now. When I first got them they were opened up really nice but now they have been closed up for about 4 days straight. I added some live rock to the tank and moved them a little bit and then they just closed up and haven't come back out. Are they really picky about how much flow they get? I've moved them around to 2 other spots but no luck. Is it normal for these guys to stay closed for so long? I have a couple of other corals and fish and they are all doing great so I'm a little worried about them. Any ideas?

Ditto on the "stop moving it."
Mine enjoys both major flow and none at all. It is a huge colony and part of it is under the exhaust from my HOB skimmer. It gets POUNDED big time and does just fine while the other end sees nearly no flow at all and is growing up the back glass at a pretty fast pace.

well its been almost a week now and still no sign of this fella opening back up. Its been in the same spot for 3 days now. Doesn't look like its decaying or anything but I'm getting concerned because all the other life in my tank is doing just fine.

You mentioned that you added some live rock around the same time they stopped opening. Have you checked your water levels to make sure there is not any die off happening from the new rock you added. Even when purchasing live rock from a pet store as "cured", you have to be very careful. If they have not had the rock long enough to have it cycled, then it could be causing some changes in your water parameters that are causing your coral to not want to open. My experience with GSP is that it is tough. Not a whole lot bugs it. Do you have other coral in the tank or do you mean fish when you say everything else seems fine?
