green star polyps

okay i went to a recomended lfs today and picked up a green star polyp frag for $15 and tommorow i will order some pc's for my tank will they be okay until i get my pc's?
and thx for the shop location 2nu2believe
 
do you have any lights right now?
when my ballast blew a couple months ago - I was told that corals can survive for 1-2 days without lights but after that, it wasn't good. Not sure how accurate that is but...

ahh they wont open i put an extra 20w on and put them in flow let me now if their is any thing i can do other than w8

did you drip acclimate or just float, as that may have some effect on why they are or are not opening. ZOAS do pretty well in adverse light conditions.

they r open and looking great now
and the clown fish decided they r his and wont let me move them without him biting me
but i only floated then i added some tank water to the bag and let it sit then put it in yeah when i first got my tank i bout some zoas but a pet store sold me a camal shrimp instead of peperment and i didnt notice till all the zoas were gone

hey kidreef, i got a small green star colony about 3 days ago but none have came out yet?? anything wrong u think? my levels are all good.

GSP don't like being moved around, they can close up for several days, I've seen them slam shut for a week. Corals can go for a day or so without lights and have no problems.
I have a 75g tank that I'm taking down and thought that I had removed all the corals, it had been sitting in the dark with no lights for maybe 2 weeks and I noticed I missed a green hydnophora (horn) coral, it had been in the dark for 2 weeks! now it's fine. Not saying you should go do this, but corals are much hardier than we give them credit for.

maybe too much light too little light or too much or too little flow but as long as the base is still purple i wouldnt worry
