green stripped mushroom frags

I have some xenia I could frag for you and I have tons of mushrooms that are burgundy with tiny green bumps on them (don't know if they have a specific name!). What exactly are bumby mushrooms? I might be interested in a trade.

yeah i have cut some blue ones in 4 pieces and only like one or two of the pieces would grow. could i get the whole mushroom completely off. here is a pic of a polyp i have too, and the mushrooms. also where are you from, i am coming to the city tomorrow if you live around there or something.

I don't know if you could remove the whole shroom or not. I have never had to frag mine, they just fall off the rock because there are so many. I could try to explain how to frag, but I think that there is a thread that has pics and explains it very well. Just go to the search function and type in "fragging mushrooms". It should bring up a post by Kipass that is awesome, if it doesn't let me know. I live in Stillwater, but am willing to meet you. It will probably be about a week before the xenia are attatched, I'm going to frag them tomorrow. Here are pics of the xenia and mushrooms I have.

yeah i saw that "fragging mushrooms" post by kip, i did it just as the directions said with a couple of blue mushrooms, but all but 1 frag of each of the mushrooms disappeared and they were rubberbanded under netting:notsure:. I just got these mushrooms las weekend but i would mind trying to frag a couple of shrooms.
what would we trade i dont really have that many, would you let me buy some of the spotted ones and xenia's.
aslo how big of a rock, and how much.
I'm new at this trading frag stuff (actually new at all coral stuff always had FOWLR).
I don't want to bring something not as good as you expected or anything you know what i mean. Please explain
i feel like an idiot asking all this.

I understand! I would be happy with just 3 maybe four of your pretty shrooms. You don't need to buy anything from me. I like to help people out because I've had several help me. The xenia grows like a weed in my tank, so it needs to be fragged anyway and instead of throwing it away I'd like for someone to have it. As for the spotted shrooms they grow like weeds too and I need to get rid of some. I use base rock for my frags. I just buy a small piece and then bust it up into smaller pieces. The only way I've ever done shrooms was by cutting off the entire head, leaving some stalk on the rock, and then attaching the head with wedding veil on another rock. The stalk grew into another shroom and the head attatched to the rock. I tried cutting them into pieces once and it didn't work for me, but some people have excellent luck with it. Just give it a try and let me know when you get some, it's no problem for me to wait!

ok i will do what you said and just leave the stalk and cut off the head. i tried the other way and only 1 small cutting off of each of two mushrooms lived.
i am going to do it either tonight or tommorrow and let them attach and i will let you know after that.

Nice ones as well. For a whole one of yours cut as close to the rock as possible, I will give you several green striped and green bumpy type shrooms....I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance. For another, I'll give you a baby leather coral (not a cut frag piece, but a little leather...base, polyps, and all) if you want.
