The would feed off of your green water. They would be consumed by your fish and eventually they would die (once hte green water is gone). then you'd have these tiny little shells almost too small to even see sitting on your sand bed ....
a natural way to get rid of green water....

they are small almost microscopic animals with hair like rotating "thingies" that suck food into thier mouths like a vacumn cleaner. They are usually raised as food for newly hatched fish. To raise them you culture green algae then feed the algae to the rotifers. Hence the suggestion here to use them to consume the green water. You can buy cultures and eggs at various places but my culture did live past a week or so. Didn't have enough algae.
It is much more practical to add plant life.

I didn't want to start a new thread, but I've had my tank for over a year. I have a protein skimmer and 2 power heads with live rock. There are 4 green chromis, 1 cardinal fish, 1 tomato clown, and a royal gamma. About a month ago my tank slowly started to become green. Here's a pic, I'm not really sure whats wrong.
