I have been treating my 55 gal tank for ich. I have been following the directions on the bottle and have had one casualty. (cleaner shrimp)
Does anyone have any experience with this product?
Should discontinue use ? and go with the QT hyposalinaty method ?

Yep got a couple of verts that were included with the Live Rock. 2-purple condis.
Last night I did a 20% water change and added carbon canister. Turned on PS. Checked levels.
0.2 ammonia, ph 8.0, nitrate /nitrite 0.0
The only casualty that I had using greenex was my cleaner shrimp, but not sure if it was because of greenex. I came home after work and found him being 'sucked' in by one of the condis. Had to seperate with using my hand and creating a current. Also, pushed some CC into the condis until he let go.
Do condis usually eat cleaner shrimp ?
Will condis live under regular flouresent light?
Does adding garlic to their frozen food actually help prevent ich breakouts ?
When I was treating the water with greenex, I left the 5W UV on to kill any free swimming ichies. Did I damage the UV ?

Hi Salty James,
SOme of your questions are better suited for the Reef Discussion board, and I suggest you post them there if you really want a lot of replies.
As for the garlic, it will not kill the free-swimming ichies. :) In practice, it seems to help keep fish free of the salty appearance of ich. This does not mean that ich is not present on the body (it may or may not be--practically impossible to tell). If the ich is not on the body, it will stay free-swimming, and as such, can last about 3-4 weeks without a host before it dies. If the ich is on the body, then regardless of using the garlic, it is only postphoning the inevitable--an outbreak when the garlic effect subsides for some reason.
BTW, putting garlic extract into the main tank is a waste. Soaking food in it is so much more effective. If you put the same concentrations into the tank that you put into garlic-soaked food, you will probably kill the free-swimming ich, but also all organisms in the tank.
You probably know all this, but just wanted to share.
