Grounded Plugs

My tank is in my classroom. OSHA came through yesterday and said no electrical appliances of any kind can have 2 pronged plugs. They all must be three pronged. Does anyone know where I can get heater and filter with grounds? I won't be able to have my tank at school without them. It's been up and running for 6 years. TIA

to meet osha standards all you is add a gfci at the wall then plug your cords into that.you can get them at any home improvement store

Thanks. I'm going to double check this. Our building supervisor said we can not have 2 prong plugs, even with a gfci. 5 science teachers are trying to save tanks.

Go get a 2 prong to 3 prong adapter the same color as the cords
. Maybe even super glue them so they won't come apart

Pretty soon we won't be able to go outside because the sun is too bright or it's too dark outside.
Glad osha isn't there when I plug in my electric razor

Really you're not drawing enough power to "require" a 3rd portion of the plug but yeah no wiggle room it seems with osha

if you plug a double insulated device into a wall and use it it is ok but use an extension cord and you need a gfic.If osha comes again ask them if all the computers in your school have to be removed if they have only 2 prongs also printers, coffee makers, electric pencil sharpeners.......I am construction industry and see osha all the time a carpenters company was fined because he had a radio at the end of an extension cord and no gfic,we were fined because the carpenters removed the hand rails up to the 2nd floor that we were on their ans was to place an extension ladder from outside through a window and enter that way!

I agree that osha is a good thing to have 80% of their regs are good but 20% are overboard

We don't run any other equipment with 2 prong plugs. We can also not use power strips or any kind of plug in the wall expanders. The fine is $200 per day. I'm preparing myself mentally to move my fish. I have a 75 gallon at home, but the students like the fish. I've had my clownfish longer than these students have been in high school.
