grounding probe and GFCI

All you need to do is make sure that ALL of your equipment is run through the GFI, either by being plugged directly into the GFI or into a power strip in turn plugged into the GFI. Then just connect your grounding probe to a solid ground such as:
A cold water pipe
A receptacle mounting screw
The third round grounding slot of an available receptacle. >> Some people like to put plugs into their grounding probes connecting the wire to the ground connection. This works great.
The grounding probe does NOT have to be connected to the ground of the GFI, but many people will probably argue with me, so rather than argue back, I'll say if it makes you more comfortable to connect it to a ground after the GFI, that's fine too.
