Grounding Rod

Our LFS told us to check our tank for stray voltage. We did and we had 42 volts. So we bought a aquarium grounding rod and installed it. We now have 0 volts in our tank. Is there anyone else that has done this and what were there thoughts?

i had the same problem once even though you have the ground you should try unplugging everything one at a time to find the source of the current

Put your tank on a GFI.
That 42 volts can be eddy currents, or it can be a real problem. If it's a real problem, the GFI will trip. If the GFI doesn't trip, then no further action is necessary.
