I have a 55g tank with almost 20 different corals in the tank, big and small, cramped up in there.
And I bought a 16oz of DT's 3 months ago and I only used up less than 1/3 of the bottle due to phyto bloom in my tank.
And the bottle is expired now.
I think I am going to stick with DT's
And I have to go with the smaller bottle like 8oz.
The instructions to make 'em are great. good stuff for 500g and up hobbyists thou.

that is pretty cool...i wish i had the space and money for this type of project....instead of a work like do you think it would work if you just let the setup sit outside with the bubbler??

with the lights especially with 6500k algae will grow naturally, with the tap water plus salt then add essential elemnts, its a recipe just waiting. a bloom is inevitable.

Awesome thread.. Not sure how I didn't see this before, but when I upgrade, I will definitely be making some references back to this. Thanks!

I know this is a fairly old thread, but I'm skeptical about something: whether essential elements is really enough to feed the phyto. Don't they need nitrates and phosphates to grow, pretty much at all? Where are they getting any of that in this setup?
