Growing caulerpa in it's own tank?

I have a spare 10 gal tank that I was thinking about using to grow caulerpa. Before anyone says "why not use it as a refugium" I don't have the space for it by my tanks. :D
So..
Would the standard 15 watt fixture with a daylight bulb be enough?
Would a powerhead be enough or would I need a filter?
Would I need substrate?
I was thinking that I would use water from water changes to feed the caulerpa.
Will this work?

Something in the 10 for the macro to attach to is always a good thing...the light you stated should work ok. Your could always get a clip on utility light and put a grow spot bulb in it as well...
As for the water swapping...i dont believe that woudl be suffice in removing or diluting everything in which needs diluted or removed...like silicates or any heavy metals, etc.

Substrate is a good idea. Whyh do you wnat to grow this stuff? Are you gonna transplant it in your tank? or just grow it for fun.

dreeves - the reason I thought I'd use water from my other tanks was only to feed the caulerpa.
aarone - the reason I want to grow it is for food for my Rusty angel. he loves to pick at caulerpa all day so it doesn't last long in my tank.

I have a 20 gal that I grow caulerpa in. I also have a sand bed in there and grow pods, worms, stomatella etc to periodically add to the main display. To feed my tangs and to replace stuff my sixline eats.I'm going to put some ceriths in there too because the sixline is probably eating the babies in the main display.

What are you using for lighting and filtration?

I use a couple NO strips that came with my original 55 and I have a maxijet 600 ph and an old canister filter with nothing in it for water movement. I leave the lights on 24/7.
