Do you mean in a sump/fuge? Because I think a lot of people do that whether they want to or not. Or do you mean actually having a dedicated system/tank for pods?

You have a fuge though, no? early... I have zillions in there and the make there way into the D.T. and my Mandarin is such a Fat Cat now..
I don't have a fuge just a sump with LR and I stopped lighting it. Originally I had a fuge built into my sump but it's a 10g sump and I had to remove the baffles to make room for my skimmer. I also use a prefilter on my return pump and filter between some baffles so it's possible that I removed them when I replaced my filters and there are no more.

Cool! Give us more details.
I have no experience in this area so I could be wrong... but I didn't think that pods & phyto were the same thing? I think pods are actually little critters that live in the sand & rocks. I know nothing about phyto but was under the impression that it was more of an algea, used for feeding filter feeders.
I love melevsreef though and have read just about everything on there several times. If I had more room for "fish stuff" I'd definitely try growing phyto.
So, interex, you're growing pods? Or phyto? For what purpose? Food for something else? Or just for fun? Cuz I'm planning on culturing pods to supplement SH feeding....

yeah, ive been looking into culturing pods also.
I bought a bottle and tossed it into my main. I did not see many so I bought another one. I dumped three quarters of them into my DT as well. I decided my QT was not doing anything so I dumped thee rest in there and they are breeding like crazy. My manderin is not going to go hungry
Were the pods you bought a mixture, or just one kind? I'm looking for ones tiny enough for dwarf seahorses. I was told that the kind affectionately called 'Tigger' pods were the ones I need.
