I was looking at some polyps and something (looked like tiny feather duster) growing in the middle of it. I turned the rock over and this is what is under it. Is this bad or does anyone know what it is?
The root-like object actually looks like it is going to what appears to be a baby feather duster. Does the color and texture mean that is something dried up? or could something actually grow from this?
Like the other person said you are good they are harmless filter feeder they will come and go. the tubes are just a hard shell for the worm to live in some maybe empty and some may still have the worm living in them in time when there left alone you will see the feathers sticking out of them if there is a worm still living in it. my Live rock has alot of them all over. hope this helps ya!
