grrrr... sponge crabs??

I hate when I do this.
went to the LFS to look around. Saw a cool sponge crab (about 5 different colored sponges on him)... and for the bargain price of $2. I asked if he was reef safe, lady said "sure".
Come home, look it up, and sure enough there are some bad reports.
Anyone have any experience with them? It's not too much of a big deal, I'll just dump him into my refugium with my hitchhiker rock crab ( I can't purposefully kill anything).

I think you are talking about a decorator crab. They take pieces of sponge and decorate there bodies with it. I am not sure if it is reef safe but if you have any sponges i would not put him in with them.
