I have brown algae growing over my well established GSP, and now its not opening at all.
HELP!

what kind of flow is it in? you could try gently blowing it off with a turkey baster.

well now that there is Brown alge on it my Powder tang is nipping at it...
Should remount my PH to make flow direct?

maybe place it in a area with higher flow but dont point a powerhead directly at it.

how much flow do you have in your tank

Moderate 2 MaxiJet 1200's in a 55gallon

flow should be good how long are your lights on for and are you over feeding

Lights go on for 6-8 hours. Had no problem before.. Dont really feed the coral I guess it just eats the frozen shrimp and flakes i put in.....

Try to get it off ASAP. I had a 25 square inch piece of GSP that I lost this past fall because i didn't get diatoms off of it soon enough and it smothered the colony. I would go even so far as to take out the colony and using a new toothbrush or wire brush, gently remove the algae.
