guess who's going to the aquarium in atlanta

thats right next weekend thursday im going to brand new aquarium in atlanta the largest in the world. i will be sure to take a ton of pictures and do everything i possibly can there. also i've already purchased the tickets

I am going on Friday for the second time. It is amazing, but I hope this time will be better since last time they had just opened and it was crazy. I'll be sure to take pics and post them! I also get to go in April on a field trip with my AP lit class. We figured if we read a poem relating to the ocean we could get permission to go and it worked. My last field trip ever, good graduation gift!

They use MH lighting just like we do. Tuesday I was priveledged to attend a behind-the-scenes tour of the aquarium and was thoroughly amazed.

Awesome!! That is definitely a future destination for me...
We live nearest the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. My husband and I have been there, but most recently my parents went and got some great shots. We are leaving for a diving trip to Cozumel TOMORROW...we'll hopefully be bringing back some equally great shots to share!!

We saw it advertised on billboards on our way from S.C. To FLA last November. Wanted to go but didn't have time. We will defitely be heading there this coming Nov.

Here are some pictures from today. It was crazy in there, way too many people! The big tank that is 6.2 million gallons filters 69, 662 gallons per minute! That is if my calculations are right! The guy said that all that water is filtered every 89 minutes. IT was awesome! They have done so much more stuff for the animals and the public since opening in November. The big reef actually has several nice corals, not just the little ones they first had. I love the tank with the video camera in it. It is covered in Ricordea Yuma ( at least thats what it looked like to me!)
