Alright, this thread is for gun discussions!
If anyone else wants to share pictures of their guns, it's fine with me!
Right now, I've got nothing but a little youth BB gun and a Pellet Rifle. I've got around $230 to spend.
What gun would you recommend for a newbie that would like to go after deer, but could also get vermin? Are there any in that price range? If aren't any in that price range, tell me which gun is a good one anyways.

Not sure if they are still available but the Savage model 110 is a good weapon for the $$$. 30:06 is a great caliber. There is a round for just about any use.

when it comes to guns the more the merrier,
varmints= .22 long rifle
brush= 30 06 or 410 shotgun or 12gauge shotgun
distance= (my personal favorite)savage arms .270 short mag w/accutrigger you can pick a booger of a skeeters nose at 140yards open sighted with this gun, even after 6 cups of coffee. best gun I have ever owned. only issue was after 5 rounds in short order you lose acuracy due to barrel overheating. But if it takes more than one shot you shouldnt be holding a gun.
Sniper says "dont run. you'll just die tired."

My deer rifle - Browning Medallion 25-06 w/Boss System & Redfield Illuminator Scope
My other rifle - 300 Weatherby Magnum & Leopuld 4.5 Scope
My wife's deer rifle - Savage 7mm-08 w/Accu Trigger & Burris 3x9 Scope
My wife's Savage costs $600 brand new and the Burris scope is about $200.
The Browning I have costs $950 and the Redfield scope was $620.
The Weatherby Magnum I have costs $1,500 and the Leopuld scope was $550.
The only gun and scope I actually bought was my wife's Savage. The Browning & Weatherby were inherited when my dad died......

All I can say is I hope the guy had a knife and fork with him. How would you like to try to pack that animal out of there

For about $230 look for a good used bolt action rifle, the caliber is a hotly debated subject and really on your terrain IMO. Most of the 6mm rounds (6mm Rem or 243 Win) are highly versatle for both varmints or deer, their versatility is optimized if you ever get into reloading your own ammo. Very little recoil, highly accurate and flat shooting.

Remington 1100 20 ga
Glock 29 10mm
Beretta 3032 .32 cal (Wife's)
Bushmaster Carbon 15 9mm
Kel-Tec PLR-16 .223 cal (Purchased this afternoon)
I also have a Remington 512 .22 cal rifle that belonged to my Grandfather. The bolt has been missing since the late 50's. I've refinished the stock and the barrel is currently being re-blued.
