I got ick on my clown fish in my main tank. He did go through a very stessful situation where my tank cycled, but the tank just tested ok for everything, then he got inch and died in 24 hours when I tried to treat him.
when is it safe to add new fish? I have a 30 gallon long with 30 lb or lr and 40 lb ls. Life in the rocks seem ok and I have a few feather dusters and a small brown zoo coral. Thanks :notsure:

Ich needs fish to survive...so keeping your tank fish free for a few weeks will let the ich die out. Everything that I've read (check the FAQ at the top) says 4-6 weeks should take care of everything.

No problem! Good luck...I've been battling ich myself. I'm almost halfway through my hypo treatment.

Well...almost 3 weeks into it. Haven't lost any fish (knock on wood) since it began....lost a Kole Tang and a Copper Banded Butterfly early on. My big gold stripe maroon clown had it pretty bad, but once the hypo began she recovered rather quickly. I've been making regular water changes...watching the ph like crazy...and feeding garlic & zoe enriched foods. Didn't have a quarantine tank (have a new one cycling now)...so I had to pull most of my live rock out and store it in a tub with a heater and power head. Ran into a problem when the remaining pieces of rock that I left in for cover began to die off. Had a nice spike that caused some concern. The hardest part is staying patient.
