I am having a horrible problem with hair algae, as it's growing everywhere in my tank....nitrates are very low, I reduced lighting times, lowered amount of feedings and added phospate remover, to no avail as of yet. any advice?

What are your nitrates and phosphates at? What kind of phosphate remover? Bioload? Cleanup Crew? What kind of water change water?

I had a major hair algae problem when my tank was newly cycled. In addition to the water changes, lighting changes, and celanup crew recommended, I also purchased a lawnmower blenny and he got rid of ALL of it very quickly. I've enver had a problem with hair algae since.

I had hair algae in the past. Mine was due to polluted water, too much light and using tap water for top offs and changes. Once I started with RO/DI water, adjusted the lights and steped up the maintainence, it went away on its own...

i am going to get a lawnmower blenny right away and the next fish will be a Chevron Tang, which should also eat algae. I think it was Bioguard phosphate remover, I'll have to check. my nitrates are under 2.5 ppm, I believe.
