Hair algae problem.

You can starve your corals of light for a while if you have to. I'd recommend removing the rocks and scrubbing them with a toothbrush to get a jump on things. Do you know what your phosphate levels are?

In your sump with light it would grow and filter out the things the hair algae would feed off of. Great control and preventative. Pods live well and multiply well in it which also each the excess food and poo. Keep at it with what everyone is telling you. Even the hours you have your lights on. We all have gone through this.

Until you see a good change in the algae. Probably 2-3 weeks. My buddy put the cheato in his sump and turned the lights off for 2 days at a time. A little extreme, but it worked in 2 weeks. Keep posting and take some water to your fish store. Let them use their chemicals. You'll pay them back later I'm sure. After it's all over you may want to only run them for 8hrs a day to give everything the right light and keep the algae at bay.

In 2-3 weeks wont the corals and the anemone die? I think that 5 hours is way to little bit for the corals and anemone and can die in 2-3 weeks right?
