Hair algae vs macros vs coralline

I have been fighting hair algae for about 4 months now and its going away now. there is a small foot hgold that i plan on manually removing within the next week. I havent noticed any new growth only minor thickening of what minor algae is left. One thing that i tried is a hang on fuge, but i didnt like it so i removed it and shoved about a soft ball size piece of macro (caulerpa) in my tank in hpoes that it would do something. it might have cuz after i did that I started dramtically losing the hair...unfortunately i also added about a dozen LARGE snails at the time, that might have also done this. since the hair decline my backside of the tank has been almost completey covered in coralline, and the corraline on my rock looks better, and growth on base rock has been increased....question is after the hair is gone, can i removed the culerpa without fear of the hair returning? i heard kip say once that youd have to remove a lot of plant growth to remove a lot of nutrients, and this stuff hasnt grown in the 2 months since i put it in. remove or no?

Once the macro is growing that is also hard to remove. I would remove it unless you like that look. Do you run a skimmer?

yea i run an aqua C remora pro since i dont have a sump. The macro was confined to one rock and isolated on the off chance it got out of control, but im concerned that when i remove the macro the hair will return....is this a reasonable fear?
