hair algea q?

hey everyone
im not a newbie but i do have a quick question.
i cleaned my tank because i have a bad hair algea problem and it needed to be done. there is still a little left over what can i do to get rid os it i want it gone

what about for the colors in the tank? does it bring them out better and anything on the algea q?

I think the black brings out the corals and stuff about algea what do you have in your tank now you could get a tang or a foxface they would eat algea real quick Also how long do you have your lights on for if there on for to long it can cause algea problems. Good looking tank btw

ok first of all cut your lighting way down thats what i did like to 6 hours a day then slowly work it up to 8 and keep it there. also you can get a phosphate remover and put it in a bio bag and put it in your filter that kept it off for me.

when you said you cleaned your tank, do you mean a big water change? this would drop nitrates and phosphates (hair algea food) in your tank. RO has no phosphates in it so you should use that. less light will help a buch. i wouldn't cut it in half suddenly though. 8 hours might be the magic number, but slowly decline your lighting time until it makes a difference. maybe have actinics on for 12 and have full light on for maybe 11. if that doesn't work lower it to 10 etc.
