Hair algea

I have a question for anyone that can answer. A friend of mine brought me over a frag off candycane and im noticeing some hair algea on it, my tank is hair algea free and am wondering if i intruduce this to my tank will it cause a porblem on can i scrubb it off so id doesnt cause a problem. any suggestions

I would be leary of adding anything into my tank with hair on it. Can you safely pull it off? If your tank has any phosphates or nitrates, it can become a nightmare if & when it spreads.

it could be romove with a brush i suppose but i decide to just give it back to him i dont want that nightmare in my tank.
