hairs on my coraline?

I got LR for the first time about two weeks ago. I am now noticing that on some of the really beautiful outcroppings of coraline algae, there are little white (I think) hair-like things. Any idea as to what these are?

coiuld be anuthing at this point. Wait and see - probably tiny tube worms - my tank in now full of them. If they start to populate everything get a Sally Lgithfoot crab. It'll eat 'em all!

it really couold be many things at this pooint, a better description would help, if you are refering to several LONG hairlike strands originating from a central point(like tentacles) and probably no visible or at least a buried body then it could be a spagetti worm, but again if that does not sound like them then a better description would help out alot

A better description -- the algae is not flat on the rock, it is a gorgeous raspberry color, and it is about an inch long, and about half an inch high, with a ruffled edge. Protruding from all over the ruffled edge are little nearly opaque hairs. They do not come from one location only. There are smaller raspberry-colored masses that also have these hairs on them. I have a sally, and so far, she has not been too interested in this stuff at all.

Daisy I have the same exact thing all over my rock. They are a brilliant color red and have little clear hairs on them. I've been trying to find out what they are as well.

It is the whole organism. It doesn't seem like it's either a really good or a really bad thing for the tank. They do eat detritus though so that is good and they are kind of nice looking so that's good as well.

They must be filter feeders, no? Because I think they're stuck to the rock, right? Do they open like clams? I'll have to do some research on them. But they sure are purdy!
