Less than 150 days and I need to get started on my new tombstones for this year.
Some foam insulation board, a Dremel, and a few garden center statues and I'm in business!
This one needs to be shaped and carved and will stand about 45 inches tall.

This is one I'm making for another local guy who also does a big display. I've just darkened the recessed areas and lettering. It wil get more paint and details in the coming days.

This is a column monument that will stand over 6 feet tall. Foam base with a concrete tube and a finial for the top.

Some details of the base.

This is one I recently finished up after the final sponge painting.

So many stones..so little time!

Very nice work...

One of my favorite times of the year. I work in a haunted house every year and building new props is always fun. You have given me some ideas....

Thanks for looking! I'll post more pics as I finish them. I have some other projects I'm working on but wanted to get these done early so I'm not scrambling in September and October.
This is one I made last year.

You carve all of that??
The toppers are statues from Garden Centers or foam filled latex props from Halloween stores. I only carve the epitaphs/cracks/etc into the foam.

You have NO idea!

I have a very slight idea

I am happy that with my recent neck surgery I will have a nice scar that requires very little additional makeup. In fact, its close to Halloween every day for me now

At first I thought this was a count down thread. I was ready to duke it out, as it is my job to start the countdown of spookienes .But this gets two thumbs up!

Yes, you do have a "slight idea"

Hope the neck surgery was a success and nothing too serious, but hey, if the scar tissue becomes too pronounced, feel free to come over on Halloween. Scars and things are always welcome!

I'll be awaiting the countdown! I've been counting down for a few weeks now. Not many "weekends" left to get things done!

I have this one almost finished. Has a base coat of dark gray and two coats of light gray Dry-Lok. I need to sponge on some dark for highlights and shading then it goes to it's new owner.

If I had more time, I'd make some for sale. I do make a few for other people though. My son actually mentioned today that I should sell them. I could finanace my other Halloween purchases!

You have no idea

I have so much invested in this "side hobby" that my wife would kill me if she knew....Gorrilla gages, foam insanity wards, man under the glass, "real" front half of vehicles coming at you, caskets, etc...etc... Speaking of caskets, I just refurbishing an old steel casket that was found when a local lake washed it up years back. Looks awewome...

Keep sending the pics, I'm getting great ideas.

Here are a few I finished over the past several weeks. Thanks for looking!
This one stands a bit over 7 feet tall.

I have a couple more in the works, but need to step it up on a couple other projects first. Will post more later.
