Hamilton Metal Halide 2 x 175 watt mh with 4x55watt pc's and 2 fans.there are 2 separate ballast one for the mh's and the other is for the pc's this one has 2 switches.mh bulb are 10k's and are about 8 months old.the pc's are 2 daylight bulbs and 2 actinic bulbs.whole hood is 48 long.everything is plug and play.i'm looking to get $325+shipping that is half of what these will cost you new.email me at tmfuller@frontiernet.net

i have only had it for a month or so.i don't know how old the fixture is.i do know that the mh ballast was replace in april of 06.the only thing i have done to it since i have had it is replace one of the pc bulb.the light works fine i just don't need 2 mh setups since i am takeing down my 75 as soon as my 90 gal.is ready for the contents of my 75.

Could you get the LxWxH measurements? I'm looking for something to fit in my hood. Is the lamp bases and reflectors made into this unit securely, or would it be easy to disassemble to use as a retrofit?

6 3/8 tall 12 wide x 48 1/4 lg.it looks to me that everything is riveted together and is very secure but on the other hand rivets are easy to take outas for reflector the inside of the fixture is used for that.if your interested let me know .i am also looking for a couple icecap 660 or 96w or dual 96w pc ballast that we could work out a partial trade.i also have a dual 175w mh retro kit that i would let go for $230 plus shipping

What's included with the retro kit? Ballasts, Bases, Reflector, Bulbs?
A retro kit would suit me fine, as I don't want to do away with my oak canopy...even if I have to buy multiple fans to keep everything cool.
Could you check shipping on the retro to 42539

ballast,2 sockets,2 reflectors,2 older 175w bulbs probaly should be changed.ups web page comes up with about $30 to ship

Ok, I'm very interested in the retro. What brand of ballast is it? How much would be bottom dollar, shipping included, and in what form of payment?

the name on the ballast box is cool lighting it will fire Ushio bulbs so it must be a pretty good one.since i have read that not all ballast will fire them.as for the botom line price i can't do much better since i paid the $230 about a month ago for this setup when i was going to keep 2 tanks running i'll split shipping with you let say $245 shipped to you.my paypal is tmfuller@frontiernet.net other than that a moneyorder.paypal preferred.let me know.if you buy these i'll just build a tall canopy for my new tank and keep the hamiltons.
