I'm going to be picking up a hammer coral tomorrow from a guy in my area. What is the best way to acclimate one of these? Just a temp acclimation or a drip acclimation?
Thanks!!

some drip acclimate but I dont think its necessary. If you have the time to drip it certainly wont hurt, but Temp is ok too. never lost a coral due to acclimation

I just got this and its great. I am ordering 3 more.
New-Fish Acclimation Kit: I would ask a dr. for it.

Thanks for the quick replies! Do you guys QT your corals? Someone on another site recommended that, but I can't really see that being necessary.

I did not in the past but now I do. You never know what kinda pests are on that coral. 30 days. One bad coral can take down your tank.

This is a coral that is coming from someone locals tank. Is it just as important to QT as it would be if I was buying it from a shop?

i only temp acclimated my hammer coral.
2 years later, its still kickin butt- but if you can qt everything, it wouldnt be a bad idea.
i have never qt'd anything, and knock on wood, have never had a problem.
luckily, i've reached my tank's capacity, so no more stocking for me.
