hammer spawn

I just wanted to say that tonight I had my first witnessed coral spawning. My hammer coral spawned for several hours tonight.

??? did it shoot out spores? Mine just branch out and split heads.

Yeah, it put out all kinds of slime with little bubbles in it. At first I just thought it was aggitated and sliming because of stress, but it was definitely spawning. It was just one head at first, then I came back an hour later and they were all doing it. There was hammer love on everything in my tank, and floating on the top of my water. It's back to normal today. My hammer has also grown like crazy in the conventional fashion. I got it with about 8 heads last fall and it has at least 16 now. Sorry I don't have a picture, but it wasn't too interesting to look at, just imagine a hammer coral, and now imagine it spitting out slime.

Mine spit out brown slime a few times. Is that what yours did?

No, this was clear, slightly milky.
Brown slime sounds more like poop to me.
