Hang On Filtration????

Hey all.... Just got a new 46 bowfront.. Needing help with filtration.. Any suggestions for hang-on filtration?
Want to run a reef in the tank....
46 Bowfront
2x 96 Coralife PC
(will have 75 lbs lr and 40 lbs sand)

I recommend the Penguin Emperor 400 for carbon and an AquaC Remora for a HOB Skimmer.

Cool.. Thanks.. Was considering a hangon wet/dry.. But that seems like it may be a better option...

i wouldnt get the emepor 400:nope:
instead go for a CPR HOB Refugium

Is a refugium going to be enough filtration for the tank? Protein skimmer as well?

you said your doing a reef right
so a you'll need 1.5lbs of LR per gallon that will be your biological filtration, and you'll have a sand bed about 3in that agian will be your bio-filter thats all the filter you really need
a refugium helps put pods in your tank which will be a food source for your corals and fish, and the macro algea will help keep down bad algea in your main tank and the deep sand bed will help bring down your nitrate and so will the algea you keep inthe refuguim
