So, I've finally taken the plunge, and with a lot of help and the constant tease of my best friends saltwater tank, I've started my first ever saltwater. I bought the Biocube 8 gallon, its all I can afford right now. I hope to move up to the 14 gallon, but this is good for now. I'm just pumped to get this thing started.

I hope to have: a picasso clown, a green mandarin, and a six line wrasse as my occupants. I dont think the tank will be too cramped. What does everyone else think?

I've allready bought a couple pieces of coral that my friend is holding in her 55g, a small zoo frag, a rock anenome (hitchiker on a piece of live rock I have), some sort of mushroom, either a ricordea or a furry shroom, will post a pic to get an identification, I want to have a lot of ricordeas, and yumas, and zoos. They're awesome.
but yeah, Im just glad to have this thing started, any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated

hahahaha. i sound like such a newbie

yea! lol. your still a newbie!!!!!!!!!!!!! j.k
man i cant wait for the frag tank! i wanna buy already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or get for free

no free frags :p
Emily and me went to the lfs today and got alot of stuff! I got my first fish!!!! I know how much I wanted a picasso clown, but I opted for a GORGEOUS tomato clown that I fell in love with at the store. It's super awesome!!!
I also got a blue striped legged hermit, and some super pretty purple clove polyps :)
We both got a neon yellow feathr duster, and three HUGE mexican turbo snails for our frag tank...
Emily got some starburst zoas, and a six line that she's been wanting for a while :)
We got the hook up at the fish store, so it was very affordable

oh boy...you possibly could have pulled off a picasso clown, but a tomato gets way to big and needs a ton of swimming room..sorry bro i think you should stick with the picasso and the hector or a picasso and a clown goby

well when he starts to get bigger, if he does, I will put him in my 20 long or get rid of him...
but I like him for now. I've already been thinking about getting a picasso still and putting the tomato in my 20 soon, so yeah. he's good though

No man hes not good...He needs to be able to swim, and by the looks of your tank(8gallon) he has nowhere to swim/hide/and live..would you want to be locked up in a 4 foot room with a 4 foot ceiling? I know I wouldn't so come on man just put him in the 20 right now

I was looking at tomato clowns on google, and they all only have one stripe on them, right on their heads. Well myn has two stripes, the one on the head, and a thin one on both sides of his body perfectly in the middle. Its awesome, my clown is unique, he's a "picasso tomato"
jk
:)
wooo. saltwater

I know what you mean clown. But a tomato can live there. I had a sixline in my 3g for like 5 months and he was doing fine. So I'm sure he will do great in there for a few months

Clauisea (ka-lao-sioux), the tomato clown :)

my super yellow feather duster

purple cloves, this picture does not do the purple justice. at all....

yeah i plan on doing it, I hate the plugs too. I was just giving the zoas a couple weeks on the plugs till I decide were I want to glue them down permanently. I cant decide which ones are my favorites, or if im going to even keep all those zoas in there...
