Nice gorg, I have not been able to keep a non-photosynthetic alive for more than three months in my tank. Very hard to ensure they are getting enough and the correct kinds of food. Hope you experience with them goes better. It is a beautiful addition to your tank.

so, when I woke up this morning I found that my clown had somehow gotten into my second chamber in the back! She was on the little plastic piece that makes the water fall evenly. :( I hope she is going to be ok, she is starting to look alot better after 10 minutes, but there is no telling :( of course this has to happen with my picasso

Keep an eye on it, generally clowns are not jumpers unless they are stressed, which is to be expected since you just added it but nevertheless keep an eye on it.

Still have the stock hood on the tank? This is a flaw in the biocubes IMO. The back false wall does not go up far enough to touch the hood leaving a space that fish can use to get into the back. Especially if you have a high water level in the tank. Most biocube owners have experienced a jumper into the back chambers, I personally lost a neon goby to this. The mod fix to this is to create an extension on the wall. People have used gutter guard material, gone to the craft stores and bought some of that hard net like material they use for hooking (if that is the correct term) and attached it to the back wall. Unfortunately fish are not stupid and once they have "gone over the wall" (hee hee) they will probably do it again.
Here is the plastic canvas sheet.

And the Gutter Guard

awesome, my brother installs gutters, im sure he has spare pieces lying around, thats convienant. I am going to get some today then and install it in my biocube.
On the other hand, my clown is doing fine, I think. He must have just jumped, or the water flowing over him was just enough, either way, I'm glad he is still alive. I think he's going to be ok

Haven't seen anyone use eggcrate to extend the false wall up but that just means I haven't seen anyone use it, not that it hasn't been done. I guess it could work. I think the other options are used because the holes are smaller and really takes the chance away that fish could get through.

Just talked to my bro and he is getting me a piece later this evening. I guess I will set up the eggcrate till then, I have to go to work in a bit and I wont be able to make sure she doesnt jump.
No worries I guess, she is swimming all over and is very perky :}

Sounds good, my sixline did the same thing when he was first in there too. Scared me too, luckily nothing has gone back there since.

that is a really, really sweet Gorgonian. I never seen one so big. Its easily your coolest addition. I hope your clown turns out ok. My aquapod also has a "gap" in the back the fish can jump over and i have been looking into options as well to block it off. When you do find a way to block it, please share your method. I'll look into the hardware store for gutter material like Spanko suggested. Good luck!

My bro got me some of the mesh, I havnt seen it yet, but I am hoping that it is coated in some sort of plastic or rubber. Its not good to have metal, right?
If anything, emily has been checking on her all day for me, and she is doing fine, I guess the eggcrate will work for the time being.
More pics when I get off of work, I cant wait

The gutter guard I was talking about was plastic. Don't know that I would use any metal even coated. Plastic is always safer IMO.

Yeah, I guess I'll have to see what he brings, it's free either way, so if anything I can buy a plastic one or stick with the egg crate
