Happy Tankmates?

I have a 65 gal tank with perfect water. I want to make sure that my tank will not get overcrowded with fish. I currently have a perc clown, coral beauty angelfish and a LM blennie, and 60 lbs LR. My LFS is holding for me a hippo tang (it's in their QT right now) and I have on order a raccoon butterfly fish. Am I being over ambitious with this selection?
Thanks for your help

a 65 gal is too small to keep a hippo tang long term. they get too big and need lots of swimming room. the racoon would be fine, otherwise you fish load sounds good

What would a good choice be instead of the hippo? My 65, is somewhat tall and narrowish. It seems that all I can find that will work are small fish (like the clown) and I would like some small to medium sized fish to make it look somewhat populated.

you could possibly get a yellow tang or a kole tang, those two do well in a tank your size. or other fish you could look in to are firefish, anthias, cardinals

I don't want to show off my ignorance, but how big will a hippo get normally?
How long can I keep the hippo before it'll outgrow the 65? The one being held for me is 1-2 inches.

A blue hippo can get up to 10 or 12 inches. And like others have said, they like a longer tank to swim in. I would advise against adding a blue hippo. Even the raccoon is pushing it in my opinion but he should be ok. I don't think you could have more than 2 "large" fish in your tank. By large I mean anything with an adult size of over 7". I would suggest a purple firefish, a royal gramma or other basslet or a psuedochromis. Just my opinion.

Would a maroon clownfish be ok with my perc? I hear polar opposite advise from my LFS and here. My LFS says as long as they are not the same kind of clownfish they will be fine. But I read on here that they will fight. The clownfish is already established in my tank and he has an awesome personality! I don't want to loose him!
I sure to appreciate everyone's help!
If I nix the hippo and assume the maroon clownfish will be ok, can I also get a royal gramma and have a good tank?

they have to be the same and you have to either get a pair or single you can buy a female then get a juvi that will become a male or you could get 2 juvis 1 smaller than the other and they will queral for a littlebit and one will become female.diff types of clownfish will fight eachother and most likely the maroon would kill the perc.i have heard of haveing a trio in ocellaris. Hope this helps i have 2 maroons i have had for around 5 months and they semm to be fine together right now they fought to egin with i think they may become a pair. but the maroons are the warriors of the clownfish.
