Hard dark green algae

I hate scrubbing it all the time

but my LFS says it's the only way to get rid of it. True?

Just buy an Easy Blade Scraper...It glues on to a mag-float and has a steel blade on it...only works for glass though....Removes that Green algae and even coralline like it was diatoms

I never heard of this. I have coraline trying to build up on the edges of my glass, so I will look for it.
I never had an acrylic tank, however you might be able to use an old credit card as a scraper. Try it in a corner first to make sure it won't scratch.
