can anyone educate me on these? I would love to get one, they look awesome but I can't find much info on them. If I'm not mistaken I read somewhere once that they are hard to keep.

They are the feather dusters that have the hard white tube. I dont know if anyone sells them. I've always seen them growing on liverock. I've just learned that they live long. It takes about 60 years for them to grow to about a 3" length. I have a few of them in my tank. Hopefully I'll be around long enough to watch them grow.

I keep two in my nano. I have had some people tell me that they are hard to keep especially in a nano but as a matter of fact I got one that was in pretty bad shape that was missing one of its crowns but it has been growing back at a nice pace in my little cube.
BTW thoroughly research different places to buy these things from. For me locally(and on most sites) they will charge between 55 and 70 dollars for one. I got mine for 35 each. Bargain-hunting baby!

Harial, do they need any special lighting? If they are like my feather dusters I assume they don't need special lights. Do you just feed them phytoplex?

They like flow but not a lot of flow and they are not dependant on lights. Treat em just like a feather duster. I have them in some of my PICO tanks and all of my larger tanks. While I like the common feather dusters, the cocoa worm seems a bit more durable if you have some rowdy hermits in the tank, and moving them is usually not a problem since they don't really attach to the bottom or rocks etc. The lfs here charges $22 to 25 for a cocoa worm....
