hardwater deposits

I picked up a used 30 gallon (tall) tank from a Buddy of mine and decided, after many years of debating, to go saltwater. The tank has been used with freshwater for some time and has some pretty nasty hard water deposits on it and some of the components. I worked on cleaning it for hours, but am still leary about what effects any residual deposits might have on a saltwater environment. I'm not sure what elements make these deposits and if there's a way to treat them. I had to use a household cleaner to get things cleaned up and want to be sure to get rid of any soap as well. I'm leak testing the tank right know and am not in a big hurry to set-up but could sure use some advise. Hope you can help...

What ever will get it off will be fine. Just rember to rinse it EXTREMLY well. I would just let water run through it for a while.

Go to your local Wal-Mart and get some OxyClean...It is an all natural product that will get those stains right off!!! And like wamp said rinse it out thoroughly and let water run through it.
