I was wondering if anybody has seen a black Tang in their local fish store. Is it cool or neat or anything. Has anybody seen this fish?

My lfs has gotten them twice. They are small, have a longer snout than a yellow, and are all black. They command a very high price as well. They are supposed to be excellent for reef tanks. Bo

my lfs in south jersey always has one in. They're called Hawaiian Black Tangs and go for $200 for a 4-6 inch fish. They are very "velvety" black with a white spot on its tail.

The black tang I bought looks like a purple tang, just not purple. It is holding it's own right now with my triggers, and I love it. Just don't tell my wife what I paid for it.
Have you ever seen a black dogface puffer? My lfs has one, and I want it, but the 125 still has to cycle. I don't like normal fish, I like to have people ask me "What the hell is that???"

I might get a black Tang in my fish tank. But that will be the last fish that I can put in my tank though. I don't mind spending around 200 dollars on that fish.

I have a black tang, I love it, I picked it up for 40 bucks at an lfs, it was beat up, so I bought it for cheap, another customer had bought it and put it in a tank with triggers, and they beat it up... Its awesome, back in really healthy shape....
