Has anyone acclimated a Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse?

Some of my fish have been rubbing, (so far no visible signs of ich) and my cleaner shrimp are slackers, so I got a Hawaiian Cleaner before I suffered an outbreak of something. Figured he could give my livestock a good going over, then I'd liberate him back into the wild.
Once I put him into the tank he swam around frantically for a few minutes darting in and out my rockwork, and just when I thought he'd settled down and might be attentive to his eager clients I turned my back and he vanished, presumably into my rockwork.
Anyone know if this is typical, and if so when can I expect him to reemerge?

Wrasse showed up this morning, happily cleaning all day, even ate some mysis. :cheer:
I notice it disappeared again tonight at sundown, maybe still in sync with the outside reef vice my artificial one? :notsure:

its common for wrasses to hide at night, alot go under the sand for pertection. when i had my cleaner wrass he would hide in a hole in a piece of rock i had at night. just make sure you feed him well and use selcon to enrich his food.

Selcon huh? Thanks for the tip!

Unfortunately my fish's rubbing has now blossomed into an outbeak of ich, so nobodys gonna be doing any hiding in anything but PVC for awhile.
