Has anyone mixed firefish?

I was just wondering if it's OK to mix two firefishes. I currently have a purple firefish, and my friend is going to give me a regular firefish (red). Just wanted to make sure first before accepting it.
Thanks everyone,
J

The Firefish, a.k.a. Dartfish, is a magnificent little fish that's perfect for reef tanks. These fish have a white forebody and a "fiery" rearbody that is colored in a mix of red colors. The Firefish also has an elongated first dorsal spine that "jumps" up and down. These little fish have lots of personality and should be kept in a tank with lots of rockwork. The Firefish likes lots of crevices, caves, and overhangs where they can "hang" in place. These fish prefer to be kept in pairs
and do well in the home aquarium. They are great for reef tanks and will accept most fish foods. These fish are also jumpers, so precautions should be taken to secure openings at the top of the aquarium.

Oceanist, wassup buddy? What kind of lighting did you get? I got a few corals myself. I got a stag coral. it's kinda brownish, purple, white. it's pretty cool looking. I also got a yellow tang and a baby naso tang, and a white sand sifter goby. Anything new to your collection?

I added a purple gramma , a yellow tang also i think you might have known about that though , a few scarletts , then thios other crab that i have no idea what it is , and the LFS didnt know either , but hes doing an awesome job cleaning , it looks like a dungesess crab but alot smalled like the size of a silver dollar , but exactly like a dungeness , any ideas on what it might be ?? ummm thats about it , buying the light kind of broke me , so i havent really added anything big other than the light ....... its Coralife 4x65 with 2 fans built in ....... i figure it is enought for what i need it for ..... it breaks down to like 4.6 watts a gallon..... i was gonna build one myself but i figured i would just shell out the 300 bucks ....... my blue legs are molting also so i gotta buy some shells before they start getting aggresive ........... Oh the guy at the LFS "kent aquatic" said that light should do awesome with soft corals and anemone , but i should stay away from hard corals.... does that sound right? i think im gonna take his advice .

thats cool that you got it for free. if your lfs said you should just stick with the soft corals, just listen to them. wait on the anemone for a while maybe a month or two... i just got an anemone a qhile ago and it's doing great. my maroon is all over him, and he brings it food when i feed the tank. it's so cool. i went to o st today and picked up a regular firefish. they had a purple one, but they sold it.
i'll try to post some soon. i'm gonna be going on vacation this week, and i'll post some pics when I get back.

Watch it closely if it is a Lightfoot. They get big and are known killers of fish.

Oceanist, if you want to go with some corals, start with the frogspawn, hammer, or get some mushrooms. if you get the hammers, put them near the bottom of the tank. I use to have mine near the top and they rarely came out. then when i moved them to the bottom, here they come and they look really healthy. i also have some red mushrooms that are doing great. got those for free from the hook-up - o st. the yellow tang that i put in is really great. swimming around and going through the cracks... i love it. i dont think i'm gonna get anymore fish. my tank should be up to it's limit now. i'm just going to work on turning more into a reef now.
