Well, I am assuming that you probably have a tank that is too small for one, probably around 50-70 gallons. What you need first of all is a tank of 180 gallons, if you dont I would strongly recommend you return it.
....BUt on the off chance that your stubborn, I want to keep him alive. You need some really good filtration, a nice current. I wouldnt recommend to much liverock because when it first hatches in will squeeze into the liverock and get stuck. You can useone of those clips that has a

so you can stick it to the glass and clip the egg. They are realatively easy to take care of. I had one for a while, It was a bamboo, and when it was small it ate the brime shrimp i put in the tank. It requires sand as the substrate in the aquarium, as the abdomen is easily scratched by a coarser substrate, thus causing infection. It should never be exposed to copper-based medications.
Any more Questions??? :joy:

....Sort of. I was actually one of those really stubborn people who was like ooh I can keep a shark in a 50 gallon, I soon found out that was way too small.
I loved my shark and all sharks, the only problem was that I needed a bigger tank and I dont have the space or money for them. I wish I had like a 1000 gallon tank to keep one.
You would think they get boring, but I really didnt loose interests in them. I like to keep things that people enjoy looking at and when everyone came over, they were like "wow, you got a shark" and then they ask all the questions(mostly the kids) "do they bite?"
They are really neat, I wish I had the money for them! :joy:

I would put probably about 100lbs of liverock in that tank, but I wouldnt build up the rock too high, because it can topple over and kill the shark. Lets see what other people think...

cool yea thats all the LR i had so ill just add a bit everyweek while its cylcing after all these new costs i cant afford to much at once lol but ill get at least 100 pounds before i buy the shark i want to do it right but as far as clipping the egg to the glass how im so confused wouldnt tht hurt an egg.. and are the soft enough to clip?

You can put it on a clip, which is like a clothspin thingy, and you just put it on the end of the egg, YOu will see were the shark is in the egg, so Im sure you wont clip him. The egg is not to soft. Another thing you can do it to partly bury half of it in the sand, or just lay it on the sand, the lfs will tell you how to do it.

ok thanx for the help lol now im worried about how to place the egg in the tank i just want the thing to hatch and i want to get it to eat which i hear is pretty hard im a little worried about clipping it so i think ill burry it a bit in the sand i like that idea im to worried about the clipping thing breaking the egg

Yeah I put my shark egg laying on the sand in a low current area, so that it wouldnt blow around the tank. At my lfs, they have a mini lagoon and they partly bury the egg in the sand. I wouldnt worry about feeding him, its relatively easy, you just try to find new and new foods, until you find the one he likes. I would feed him mysis shrimp at first. then move up to the shark formula food, its a frozen cube that you can cut up and give to your shark, you lfs should have shark formula.

so if you have a shark, you can make an aggressive tank with triggers and stuff? or what are the limitations?
