I use the 2 liter plastic pop bottles. I bought a rubber cork that fits nice and tight from the hardware store. Drilled 2 holes in the cork and inserted a short piece of rigid 3/16" tubing in one hole so that it just clears the small side of the cork ( inside of the bottle)and has about 3/4" sticking out the large side. In the other hole I put another piece of 3/16 rigid tubing to where it is just short of the bottom of the bottle and sticks out the other side of the large side of the cork the same as the short tube. Fashioned a type of hanger out of some wire to hang it on a cup hook. Hook your air to the short tube. The air escapes out the long tube. Run your air lines ABOVE the bottle or you will siphon the water out before your ready to harvest.(big mess, screaming, yelling, few assorted words, not to mention what significant other has to say) I hang mine in the laundry room in a cupboard that i put a light fixture and a 60 watt bulb between 2 cup hooks. 80*. Then to harvest unhook from air, the newly hatched BBS will settle at the bottom. The egg shells will float to the top. When they have sttled, drain right into your sein. Stop just before the egg shells go into the drain. I use a clothes pin to kink the air hose while the settling is goin on(high tech huh). I also save about 3-5gal of the SW that I take out from my weekly water changes to hatch the BBS in. I store the water in a rubbermaid container with a PH. Works great. I also use about 1/2 teaspoon of eggs, but you will not need near that much. I would say about an 1/8 or 1/4 teaspoon would be plenty. Also you probably don't need to use 2 liter bottles. A 20oz. should work just fine. But the stopper size is the same.
