i built a 20gal sump but im having a problem with the return lots of bubbles splash alot and its getting everything wet inside heres a pic plz need info how to make this go away or stick something on the end of the pvc?

still going to have mega bubbles if i do that maybe a filter sock of some sort maybe a vavle could help ANYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP

From what I see, you need a bubble box or something to contain the overflow. On mine I just siliconed a piece of glass diagonally in the back corner. It's about an 1-1/2" from the bottom so the water flows under it. Also, I only see one baffle between the overflow area and the pump. Maybe you could install another baffle so that the water passes over the first baffle and then under the next one. That way any bubbles that do get by the bubble box with still be caught by the second baffle. Place them about 1-1/2" to 2" apart. And as mentioned before, shorten your pipe going into the sump. Mine is about 3" under the water.

I'm using a Mag7 with about 5' of head. So about 425 - 450 gph. I have cheato and a deep sand bed in there.

thanks man i made the misteak of not putting another baffle in i got 4 in now in order to put that glass peace in i have to drain my tank cause the sump has to go out the back its to long i got a mag 7 on my return thanks 4 the help
