well, what's your opinion of Ledger as the Joker?
I think the movie, as a whole, was about 20 minutes too long. they could've cut off a minute or two here and there and it would've been better. I don't think the ending was "long", I thought the ending was stupid and overkill. but, I did a little more reading and the ending was probably a setup to another movie. for instance (SPOILER ALERT), the person that got killed at the end may not actually be dead and is going to be brought back in the next one. I also read something about the future Riddler making a cameo appearance in this one.
A bit of backround, I'm a big fan of tom clancy, and love the idea of three or four different stories, and how they collide together at the end. And that is what I felt like they did, it just took a little too long at the beginning to bring the stories together, and I don't feel like they developed the two face story line enough. To go from gun-ho good guy to gun-ho killer felt a little disjointed. However I did really like it... And I loved the joker! And how his scar story changed with each person he was telling it too.

IMO the whole movie had me riveted. heath ledger was brillant, jack nic was some big shoes to fill but i think it kicked butt! he was a pyscho and i believed he was the joker, not heath ledger u know?
some parts were dragged on but overall the best movie i have ever seen!
just to bad that it was so sadistic that my 7y/o can't see it
oh and btw i was at the theatre at 10 with my midnite premiere tickets in hand......rock on fellow nerds rock on!!!

Ledger was awesome, however, it makes me wonder, if that was the thing running through his head when he ODed. You know those actors don't just act they become the character.
Then again, as bad as movies have been, and this being his "last" movie, makes me wonder if hollywood had him killed so they could generate more publicity and interest in Batman...
I love conspiracy theories!

He had prescriptions from different doctors, from different countries. The medications were a lethal combination, not an OD.
This is why you will see commercials on TV now about why people shouldn't be getting different medications from different pharmacies.

Common people, it was a great movie! BUT THE BEST MOVIE EVER? Like so many people are stating here. Maybe if your 12yrs old and havent lived! This was not better than Indiana Jones, Star Wars TESB, Heat, Terminator 2, Aliens. I can go on!

My nurse brother said the same thing. Did they ever rule that as intentional suicide? I dunno, all I know is that he took too many drugs, and it killed him. Was he trying to get high or just taking his prescriptions and it was a bad mix?

Bad combination of prescriptions. One of the prescriptions was from Europe, so not necessarily even FDA approved, and the other from the US. And he didn't take an obsurd amount of either. It was not intentional. Very sad.

I totally agree, it was not the best movie ever made. not by far. but then you go and throw on a bunch of movies that imo, are not very good. Aliens is the only one of those movies that I really like.

The moment I saw that coin flip, I knew who it was and yelled out therefore spoiling it for the whole theatre... It's fun being the badguy at the first showing hahahaha.

Um, how about anyone who knows anything about the Batman legacy knows Harvey Dent became Two-Face, thus it was kinda spoiled in the first place.

I didn't know the guy, or his intentions, but I think it was pretty clear that it was accidental. like a mixture of either painkillers or barbiturates. that's why it's not good to be getting meds from different doctors, because combinations of things can sometimes be deadly.
to the other guy, yeah, I've only read maybe 2 or 3 Batman comic books in my life but I think it's pretty common knowledge that DA Harvey Dent becomes Two Face. so doubt it was much of a spoiler for anybody. now the bigger question......the guy who learned Batman's identity, the guy the Joker called "Mr Reese" ("mysteries"), is he going to end up being the Riddler?

my daughter said it was awesome. (midnight Thursday night) cWe will try to see it when things settle down.
Too many drugs available to too many people who are in crisis. Crisis meaning depression, stress, family problems. Some doc's are too quick to give the "star" what they want. I can't stand it when I hear the coroners report that states "drugs in the system.....each were in theraputic levels"
UGH!!! But in the wrong hands can be deadly. Sad that so many have to die.

I loved Batman. Didnt see the others, but I thought it was amazing. The Joker was one of the best villains Ive ever seen and I just loved his whole mentality. Best movie of the year IMO.
I dont see movies too often, nor do I critique them much, just whether I liked it or not, but I thought it was really good. If anyone is considering seeing this movie, I would highly recommend it.

SPOILER:
no, the Joker did not die in the movie, he went to jail. he wanted Batman or Two Face to kill him, but that would've have meant that he won.....that even the incorruptable are corruptable. of course, the guy who played the Joker is in fact, dead.
