Have You Seen This Fish?

I'm looking for a particular species of pufferfish. It's scientific name is Canthigaster pygmae and it is commonly known as the pygmy pufferfish. It is strawberry red and has pink spots along it's back. It is a sharpnosed puffer and I have never seen it on any of the internet fish sites. (marine depot, saltwaterfish and foster and smith)
It's a really cool looking fish and I wanna know if I could get more info on it.

I have never seen these fish online or in stores, however, I just looked it up online, and it is a beautiful fish. Good luck finding it! Have you seen any pricing information on these fish?

No I haven't seen any info on price range and/or where they can be found. If anyone has seen this puffer please let me know where I can find one. I attached a pic and I hope it works. (I suck at technology)

That looks an awful lot like a Fiji Blue Spotted Puffer. Easy to find online, and relatively inexpensive. We have one going on 3 years, we love him. You sure thats not it?

I'll check it out. Maybe the pictures are really different. I've never heard of it being called the fiji blue spotted puffer before though.

I still haven't found that little bugger. I went to:
Direct links to these vendors are not allowed....Please refrain from posting links to on-line vendors that compete with our host.
I can't seem to find it anywhere. It's not the blue dot puffer. (Canthigaster epilamprus) It's not the spotted puffer.(Canthigaster jactator) And it's not the honeycomb puffer (Canthigaster janthinoptera)
It's scientific name is Canthigaster pygmae and I haven't seen that name anywhere. Hey Musipilot, you said you found this fish earlier. Could you tell me where exactly it was that you saw it. I'm not questioning whether or not you actually did find it I just want to know where it is because it certainly has me stumped.
if anyone else could help that would be great.:) :) :)

:p I believe that the puffer you're asking for is like the one I have only it has blue spots & a pinkish/red tail. Its very homely, passive. A good eater.

Not even CLOSE to reef safe. Tobies and puffers are natural predators of snails, crabs, shrimp, and anything else that will fit into their mouths. Most puffers have sharp beaklike teeth specifically designed to break the shells of crustaceans.

Yeah, musi knows. Puffers are notorious for devouring reefs. That beak he was talking about... that's used for crushing hard corals and inverts. They love to eat those. Triggers and puffers are a reefs worst enemy. Cool... but evil. :D
