I dont think around this summer I would have enough money for a Hawaii Dragon Eel, what a beautiful guy! I Have a 55G tank, standerd I think. Would he get to big for this tank? I know they get 3ft, but after about 2ft I plan to upgrade. What would be the best tank set-up? Filter? lights? I found one for $385, what a steal! Does anyone have one? any pictures? I know they will eat other fish and stuff, so I wont have anything with him, if in fact I do eventually get one... Please Reply

Hey, thanks for the reply. Would 25ibs of LR be enough? What could I use to maintain the ditrus on the sand? Should I use carbon in the filter pad of just leave that out? As far as feeding and sceduals for feeding? Also how can I protect my investment of this expensive eel? I know I should cover up all holes, anything else? Thank you!

If i was to pay that much for any fish ( but its a good deal) i would bullet proof (as much as possible) my filtration they are very aggresive and not as hardy as you would think but heres some info. And no get bigger than a 55 if you put in anything else.

The particular species of eel grows to around 3 feet. He will need at least a 200 gallon.
